Fitzroy Pool is Melbourne's iconic 50-metre outdoor heated pool. Our pool is a favourite summer playground for all Melbournians.
In the 1990s, amazing community activism saved the pool from closure. Our famous Aqua Profonda sign is heritage listed, honouring our multicultural history, come and check it out for yourself!
Fitzroy Swimming Pool (60 Alexandra Parade, Fitzroy, 3065) is on Alexandra Parade, Fitzroy.
We are located between Brunswick Street and Smith Street, on the corner of Young Street.

Please note: our spa closes at 7.30pm on Wednesday for weekly cleaning and maintenance.
The toddler pool is open from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Sunday and will close for the winter months from Sunday 23 April.
Please note, the aquatic area at our leisure centres close 15 minutes prior to the stated closing time.

Anna: Pretty good, have definitely seen better but it’s just a 50m outdoor pool. If that’s what you’re looking for it’s definitely worth the trip.Pool is not super heated so if you stay in one spot you’ll go cold.Plenty of clean changing facilities, I really enjoyed the outdoor hot shower to rinse off after the swim.Pool is on the old side, but relatively clean. Bits of debri and strange shapes on the bottom of the pool so not 100% clean.Went around 2pm on a Monday and it wasn’t that busy, managed to get a lane to myself.Parking is very annoying; you need to find a free spot on one of the one way streets around the place.
Sue Spafford: Amazing place. Everyone so friendly. Joined adult stroke lessons. Such a fun group. Shout out to the instructor Georgia who was brilliant. Teaching was excellent. Everything she said made so much sense and she was very patient too. Thank you.

Jarrod Schindler: Nice old school pool. Super quiet in the mornings. Doesn't seem to have squads at the moment so no flags which meant a couple of smashed fingers at the blocks. Bathrooms are very clean and the staff are super chilled out. Pool has had heaps of leaves in it because of the beautiful gum trees, but it doesn't mean it's gross with rubbish and stuff. Feels like you're swimming in the bush 😂
Van Thomas: We took our 19 month old to the kids pool and she loved it! Lots of shaded area to bring a picnic. Kids pool was clean and the little frog slide was a lot of fun. This place is really nice because of the outdoor grass areas and the surrounding trees/view of the lake. You feel like your part of nature and not just at some concrete swimming venue .

Elliott T.: & lower rates for nonmember single day use. Whenever I bring a friend they have to pay over $20 to use the facilities which is nearly the cost of a whole week for a member.Overall, this place has been a haven for me in recent years & while you need to take precautions to remain safe & cleanly here, that’s normal for a public fitness center.

Lizzie Lavery: I honestly cannot think of a better kiddie pool. It’s shaded, it’s ankle depth, it’s got different sprinklers that the kids can interact with. We took our toddler daughter there on a 25 degree days and it’s awesome. Wishing our neighbourhood has something like this, as all other kiddie pools are indoors, or quite deep.

Remi Nicolazzo: There is two great water slides.
Jess Van Santen: Great facility catering for all the family. With the 50m pool split in 2 it makes finding an empty lap lane easy and the kids were entertained with the water slides and play areas.
