bhu vidya: Great range. Very fair prices.

Justin Louis Labelle: Solid selection in just about everything and as fair a price as you can expect from a used bookshop in a large city. The owner is a gentlemen and the whole space oozes a calm, cozy and welcoming atmosphere. They also buy books at fair prices.

Finn Weatherstone: Lovely shop, bizarrely cheap books, all around great place to check out.

Have a swing: Truly think this is the magnum opus of second hand book stores in Melbourne. Absolutely brilliant selection. Philosophy and psychology shelves were packed to the brim with some excellent books. Lovely.

Minotaur Entertainment: what do users think?

Leah Sandow: Great customer service, always interesting products. Highly recommended.

h2olily: Glad to see that Minotaur is still around albeit in a different location! I spent alot of my time in the old building in Elizabeth st. in my 20's so all the way back in the 90's. The new location has a more retail feel than previously. However they do stock alot of Pop Vinyls which is great for any collectors of Pops! There is also a huge manga section too!The only thing missing is a loyalty program!

Miner's Restored Retro Tech: The staff are both friendly and knowledgeable. The range in store is varied and large.

Mick H: Not a bad place to grab models, toys, comics and graphic novels. The staff are very friendly

Ebony Beacall: Staff are nice and helpful, but the only downside is that a lot of the time it’s loud and noisy but overall good.

Ryan Watts: Great range of comics and pop culture, staff very helpful.

City Basement Books: what do users think?

jabakes78: Excellent bookshop with extensive range of fiction and non-fiction at incredibly low prices. Great place to browse your favourite authors. Returned to Melbourne after 15 years and this seems to be the last great secondhand bookshop still standing. New ones have sprung up but this place has the biggest stock and broadest range. Might have moved location to Flinders Street, but still the same yellow signs. Highly recommend.

Jess Tran: Super cute, lots of older books and some new.

Fahad: Such a unique hidden bookstore, definitely recommend stopping by

Steve Byrne: Nice collection! Friendly, helpful staff.

Chris Hazzard: I ordered a book from Basement Books through Abe because I am also in Melbourne, and I like to shop locally when I can. They were incredibly prompt and the book was professionally packed.I am delighted.

Justin Louis Labelle: Just the way you like it. Organized but not too much, expansive but not expensive.

Kyle Schuant: Old school second-hand place, books piled haphazardly allowing for hours of unproductive exploration.

Dennis Rollings: Thanks so much

Peter: City basement books MelbourneI have walked pasted this place a number of times over the years. It was only that I looked up and saw the small sign that I went in, and I’m glad I did.Great place books from floor to ceiling and they have every category possible. The friendly staff member told me they get new stock twice a week, I’ll be calling in again every time I’m in Melbournefantastic second hand book storeI highly recommend

Have a swing: Now this is a cool spot. So many gems and the prices are ridiculously cheap. Didn’t know it existed for the longest time but now I will refuse to walk by it without visiting. Brilliant selection. Highly recommend.

Trudie McCarthy: Good selection of old books and newer. Fun to explore. Art books are reasonably priced.

Big City Comics: what do users think?

Harry: Great store. I received excellent friendly and helpful service from Jonah. He was super cool and helped me out tremendously by finding the perfect comics for me

Simon Rhee: Silly me got there, a soon realised they’re closed and by appointment only.Note: call them before you go down there, it’s not retail walk in anymore. I think Google gave the impression it’s walk in retail.

Drew Giles_Manor: Jonah, Jonah, Jonah. Where do I begin. I have never met a boy who is as knowledgeable in comics as you are, not to mention your handsome figure. Every time I’m in the store talking to him, I feel something I’ve never felt before. There’s butterflies in my stomach, but it’s like they’re dancing. The way your nose scrunches when you smile gets my heart pumping. Jonah, I truly have no other words for you other than I love you. I hope to see you again soon, or I may not be able to cope. Thank you for touching me in a way no one else will be able too, giving me feelings I’ve never felt. I wish you only the best. Again, I love you.Sincerely, Trequavian Alfred Smith III

LTW Demon: top notch service, amazing selection and great prices

Geek Tim: Great local comic store based in the western suburbs. Super helpful, great service and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended

Jett Hickey: Great prices great owner great comics great everything

Jack Reynolds: 10/10, a young man by the name Jonah Quantavious Alexander helped me decide on which comic to choose, going in depth on the issues, release dates and more when explaining which comic is the best start with in terms of impact, chronological order and how good the comic is. Would come again just to see his lovely, handsome face

max nikolovski: Jonah may be what you would call 'the king of comics'.

Riverina Antennas: Love seeing you on Simple Simons videos!! Your store looks awesome mate..

Eli Abidin: Mark is a legend

Julian Zappia: When I went there I was greeted from a lovely boy called Jonah. He was being such a nice guy and helped me pick out my new favourite comic FORNITE X Marvel. He said that it was the best comic he read which made me buy it. Please let Jonah know how much of a good employee he is.Kind regardsJulian

Asphalt Books: what do users think?

Bryn Parry: Pretty cool book store with a decent amount of choices. The staff member was very helpful and friendly too

Michael Plazzer: What a charming little book store, a treasure

Vincent Beurskens: Very interesting place to visit. The building itself is a bit of a job to navigate, but its a hidden pearl of a shop. Quite niche, but an interesting and fun collection

KARIM Songlin: ❤️

Jack Clark: Burial playing, incense burning, cute little fireplace. Love that there are shops like this here. Came out with some incredible finds!

Daniel Wright: Delightful curated collection.

Moc Moc: Delighted to pick up a few books from the carefully curated stock within this unique building / simply laid out room. Travelling to Melbourne for a visit? Make sure to pick up your holiday read from here

Anjali R: Second hand bookshop. They don't have much collection. The staff was helpful

Thomas Vernon: This is one of the coolest used book stores we've been to. A tiny place tucked away in a beautiful old building with a very interesting selection of books. Would definitely recommend having a look!

James Millar: A fascinating little store, with a quality selection, but the main challenge is finding the place! Take lift to the 4th floor, turn right, follow the signs for a tattooist through a glass door and look for room 23. All a little surreal 😀.

Lathan: Fantastic science fiction collection and lovely staff.

Amelia: Goated

Mitchell: Asphalt is a genuinely delightful little store which hosts a wonderful collection of literary fiction and poetry. Well worth the visit if you’re in Melbourne and enjoy the works of authors like Austen, Dickens, Hemingway, or Hamsun. You can even ambush the staff at exactly 12 before they have the sign properly out if you’re so inclined. Five stars.
