amit hetsron: I would rate 10 stars if I could!Their service is excellent and the help I got from Michael picking out my guitar was amazing! All in all, I highly recommend this shop and will definitely come back for my next guitar!

The Guitar Colonel: what do users think?

Sol Arctica: Fantastic shop and I’m glad that we have such an establishment in Melbourne. If you love vintage guitars or are looking for great advice this is the place to be.

Alec de Chalain: Anthony is an absolute legend. Being located in Sydney I couldn’t go in and play the Strat I wanted. So he took the time to explain everything about the strat, he was honest about it, answered all my questions and took the time to send multiple pics with the guitar apart and was happy to do it with no hassle. The guitar arrived the next day nicely packaged and was as described and it sounds and plays amazing. My new favourite guitar shop for sure!

Peter Drummond: I rang Anthony for some advice in relation to a pre-loved guitar I had purchased. I’ve just started learning and the guitar, a Squier, is not normally the level/quality of instrument that passes through his hands.Regardless of that, he said to bring it in. Anthony’s help, knowledge, enthusiasm, encouragement and professionalism are beyond reproach. As a learner with a cheap guitar, I could have easily been brushed off or hoodwinked, the exact opposite it true.I couldn’t recommend Anthony or his business any more highly than 5 Stars.

m m: Received an used PRS custom 2005 anniversary edition via delivery from this store. The shipping and packaging was handled to an excellent standard. Highly recommended.

P S: Thanks Anthony for great buying experience. I bought the cheapest guitar in the shop and can’t imagine you would have treated me any different if I’d bought that gold top LesPaul you had on the table…

Rajen Rai: Quick and easy to access

Robert Valerio: Friendly and relaxed setting to test out some fantastic music gear. Anthony is super friendly and helpful. Well worth a look

Shaun Webb: Anthony was so easy going. Would let you play for as long as you needed. Made making my purchase a no brainer. Love my guitar and will forever.

Peter Sellers: Great range of classic guitars. Electric and acoustic. Well worth a visit.

Baskah Official: Great shop with some very nice vintage guitars and amps. Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend!

Cito: There’s a reason why The Guitar Colonel is the best in the industry. Anthony lives and breathes guitars!

Gerard Moloney: Great experience with Anthony opening the doors..the LP 59 reissue sounded very nice indeed..good vibe, good location, l'll be back for sure..👍

Adam Rae: Incredible range of guitars, a must see in Melbourne for every musician! If you’re coming through Melbourne, you have to check you the Colonel!!

Edward Abensur: Very nice person to deal with! Perfect packing! But the most important: amazingly rare guitar in new condition! Thanks AnthonyKeep in touchEdward

Madhu Dason: Really cool place to view and play a variety of different guitars and also some vintage guitars. Owner is a lovely man who is very pleasant and welcoming. Be sure to check it out!

John Drew: Love this place.

Eddie Ray: High quality Acoustic & Electric Guitars. Inventory includes rare vintage selections. Owner is customer friendly, extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer inquiries. Highly recommend.

Overdrive Music School: Top notch guitars. The Colonel is a legend.

j tomato: Through word of mouth I was looking for someone to check out my guitar and give me an indication of year and build plus an evaluation of what it might be worth. The person who more than one person said I should go was a place in South Melbourne. Doing some searching I found the place and the name of the business was The Guitar Colonel. The place in South Melbourne has closed so I found out had a place in Hawthorne exact address is 112 Auburn Rd. Now it is a place to which you have to pay attention to the actual sign. It's in the opposite side about 3 shops form the Auburn Hotel. You have to go through a shop that sells what I thought they looked like Japanese dinning plates. Through that and then turn left and upstairs. The walls have old posters of band's and great guitarists. Upstairs is a relatively small area with the walls features some great guitars. Very worm and friendly atmosphere I met the colonel and he's a very friendly, polite and extremely knowledgeable of what he knows best. And is guitars. In a world of people who try to take advantage of people who are not as knowledgeable or are looking for a guitar to help them learn that magnificent instrument. He is not what you see is what you get and the advice you will get is not going to be for him to get a sale, but for you to go home and think about it and make your decision. From what my experience was I would highly recommend that you go and visit his premises and listen to what he will tell you. Hope the pic helps people find the entrance to his shop

Found Sound: what do users think?

Kim Edwards: A feast for eyes and ears for all musical instrument lovers and players. Hidden gem!

Robert Taylor: Great staff! Always go the extra mile.

K SURE MAN: These guys in Australia are awesome! I'm from the East Coast of USA. I placed an order for a hard to find item in the states, and I also had a small request I asked of them. Along with my order, I asked for something small and cheap that I could only get from Australia. These guys were more than happy to fulfill my request and shipped my order super fast. They are the shining example of how business should be conducted everywhere. As an example, I placed an order with a seller on Reverb only two states away from me, at the same time that I placed the order for FOUND SOUND in Australia . Not even a week and I received my order from FOUND SOUND!!!.....yet, I'm still waiting on my order from this seller in the usa that hasn't bothered himself to ship my item. Messaged me 3 different times to tell me he would, and hasn't still. Who has time for any of that mess? Not only do FOUND SOUND in Australia get my order to me fast, they were super nice with great communication! Thank you Thommy, Dan and also Lewis! You all far exceeded expectations, and I appreciate the hell outta you all!!

Ari Pallaris: Ordered a celestion Greenback 12 speaker that Arrived in under 24hrs . Packaged superbly well and the team from Found and Sound were superb with personal emails to inform of shipped. Solid service

Richard Campbell: Top store for all eurorack, synthesis, vintage, guitars, etc, etc. Great team: friendly, helpful and knowledgeable! Highly recommended.

Philip Parkinson: I recently bought a lovely Telecaster online from these guys. Gab was very helpful and friendly and made the whole process of sending me the guitar up to Qld very quick and efficient. Definitely recommend this place and wouldn’t hesitate in purchasing from them again.Cheers Phil

Henry Brown: Them dawgs do it different

Echo Tone: what do users think?

Lachlan Richardson: Love Echotone, great place and lovely staff. I visited a few times early days and they've certainly expanded a lot since then and now cater to all levels and budgets, and that's a great thing to have local in the Northern berbs! I asked to try out a 70's vintage Fender just to feel the neck and was instantly encouraged to also plug it in and then had a great chat after on the lineage of these great instruments!

Christine Steward: A very impressive range of vintage and second hand guitars here and knowledgeable and friendly staff who are customer focussed and happy to chat.

Raymon Calma: Echo Tone’s service when it comes to electronics and pickup swaps as the stock pickups died for no reason and replaced it with a set of Lollar Jazzmaster pickups and it is top notch as well as their service and maintenance on my Fender Jazzmaster!! It plays like a dream!! Thanks so much and will definitely come back if there’s any issues on my guitars or to shop some more!!

David Langley: Just great to be in a place where you are not only amongst wonderful musical instruments and accessories, sold by experienced musicians, but leave feeling like you were genuinely listened to and given honest advice. Very long impro lol

Raven Kodama: Really helpful staff and good range of instruments. Love it!

Sara Martin: We called in to buy some guitar strings. Great advice from the guy serving and got what we needed quickly and easily. Thanks!

Flex Moeller: Better than swoppy. Killer axevabd service

Dianne Thomson: Very helpful staff. I have never seen so many guitars. I was only after a guitar strap. Great selection to choose from.

Guitar Paradise: what do users think?

John Sanders: Probably the best music store I have ever shopped in. If I could give you guys 20 points, I would. I have bought at least three high end Ibanez guitars from GP; an amazing experience indeed! Danielle and Max couldn't have been more helpful. I am indebted to them for the time they took with me personally, even when the store was popping off with folks. You will see me again, I guarantee it!

Jack Irish: If I could, I would give these guys 10 stars out of 5.Danielle was fantastic to deal with making sure that I had the best price; that my items were packed beautifully and that I got them in a very short period of time. Not to mention, the products were perfect and exactly what I was after!I won't be going to my local anymore. This is my music shop from now on.

jack roses: Great staff, very friendly and helpful, also good choice of guitar and amp

Luke Maloney: Amazing customer service. Danielle the manager responded to an Instagram post regarding the Epiphone Dave Grohl DG-335 after hours. She helped me secure the final one in the first shipment to hit Australia. I quickly responded and paid my deposit all from the comfort of my lounge room while not missing a second of Australian Survivor! Whatever you’re paying her she definitely deserves more. Thanks again Danielle 🙌

Clik Rogan (t.borcio): I’ve been too a tonne of guitar shops since moving to Melbourne, none that had that homey welcoming feel of this place though. I been outa the game years now so coming to a guitar shop and not really knowing what you’re after is so daunting but Danielle made it so easy. Fantastic service but more so, just genuine humans. What an epic place to buy a guitar Props and respect for the team there, wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Sandra Van Auken: Great service, friendly atmosphere, expert staff.

david hemmens: I recently bought an Alvarez all mahogany dreadnought acoustic to add to my other acoustics. What a fantastic looking and most importantly great sounding/+playing guitar. I cannot recommend Alvarez guitars enough. They punch way above their price range. It easily stacks up against my Martin D15. High praise indeed. Big shoutout to Danielle who was great to deal with. One very happy customer here. If anyone wants an Alvarez, go straight to Guitar Paradise !! 😊David

Steven Tintor: I have been a loyal customer of Guitar Paradise for over a year now and have come to consider them as family-owned. The warm and inviting atmosphere they provide makes me feel like I'm part of their family. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by their fantastic selection of guitars and other instruments. Their knowledgeable staff is always eager to help me find what I need. I can't recommend Guitar Paradise enough - they truly go above and beyond to take care of their customers. They are simply the best in the business!

Cam Bird: Best Guitar Shop in Aus! Team are amazing and always have your back unlike the big chains who can just treat you like a number/sale. Have shopped here for 20 years and will for another 20!

Guitar Gallery: what do users think?

Trevor Clark: We received excellent service from Gerry in selecting and buying an Eastman mandolin. We're extremely pleased with the purchase. It has a clear, bright sound and feels good to play. Gerry couldn't have been more helpful.

Max Staples: Attentive, knowledgeable and personalised service. Highly recommended.

Chelsea Quake: Gerry is a rare gem in the industry. Cannot speak highly enough - there are fewer and fewer sellers/buyers around like Gerry. His knowledge of musical instruments, their construction, care, and the cultures and histories of the people who play them is superior, to say the least. He is a fair seller and buyer, who's motivation to produce happy customers stems from a deep love of stringed instruments and a desire for this enthusiasm to be shared by those he deals with in his shop. This is more than a simple retail shop. It is a specialty store run by a specialist. If you want a dinky plastic uke, go to eBay. If you are a professional or passionate musician, go to Gerry. He is honest, incredibly knowledgeable, and wants you to be happy with the tool of your craft.

Karlie Hawking: I visited Gerry at Guitar Gallery for some Banjo picks today for the first time but left with so much more. The shop is a treat with a fine selection of banjos, guitars and mandolins. As a banjo beginner I had a lot of questions and Gerry was welcoming, knowledgeable and incredibly generous with his advice. I’m loving my new picks and would happily return next time I need something for my Banjo playing journey.

Charlie Thorpe: The Guitar Gallery is absolutely fantastic and the service is impeccable. Not only does Gerry stock the best guitars you can find, he also went above and beyond to install a pickup for me with a super tight deadline. And boy did he do a good job of it! Can't recommend this place enough!!!

David Ayers: What an amazing selection of guitars. There are some unique designs worth checking out here.

Tom Jakob: Great shop - Gerry is incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Let me try several vintage instruments before I settled on one!Great range of acoustics and Gerry was able tp figure out exactly what sort of guitar suited my playing style best.Very happy

Peter Cincotta: today and thank you for spending time with me on my guitar selection. Your knowledge, advice and service was excellent and really helpful. The Blueridge parlour guitar is the perfect fit for me and I am looking forward to picking it up soon.

Brian Tabucanon: 100% would recommend checking out this shop in the heart of Fitzroy. Guitar Gallery has such a personal feel to it and you're surrounded by beautiful acoustic guitars with your own little area to try them out. Gerry is also an absolute legend who is very knowledgable in his craft and always happy to have a chat or answer any questions I had.Ended up buying a Taylor 812ce DLX 12-Fret which looks and plays like a dream.Extremely happy with my purchase and experience. Thanks again!!

Angelita Biscotti: Really happy with my mandolin that I purchased here earlier. Thank you Riley for being so enthusiastic and helpful. I really appreciate the personal care and the feeling of being inside this beautiful, curated space surrounded by gorgeous instruments.

Luke Baker: Very helpful shop to a guitar novice like me. They are happy to help you, not just sell stuff to you. Very impressed with the service!

Richard Goldsmith: Thanks Gerry,Not only did we walk out with a signed CD from Gerry, my eleven year old son Hayden was gifted a wealth of guitar knowledge lifting his wisdom up another tread in the stairway to heaven. Thanks Gerry, the FGN standard electric not only looks the coolest item in our house, it play being played by the self confessed coolest person in the house. Will be back for another instalment.Cheers Richard

Joe Cornell: Ordered an Octave Mandolin from here and it was delivered really quick and in great condition.I had a few questions about the shipping and they really went the extra mile to ensure it went smoothly and it came through in record time as well.Wouldn't hesitate to shop here again.

Locki Kenyon-Quigley: The best guitar buying experience I've ever had.I bought a BR-160-12 from Gerry. The guitar arrived in Perth carefully packed, with nice action from the jump. After a gig, however, it became apparent that my left hand was not going to cut the mustard...and I still needed a guitar.I requested a trade from the local Blueridge dealer, Zenith, for a 6 string. Within 24 hours, Gerry had mediated between Zenith in Perth, the Blueridge rep in Melbourne, Guitar Gallery, and myself to swap my 12 string for a 6 string, while having the 12 string shipped back to Melbourne. All I had to do was pick up the new guitar and drop off the 12 string locally.Bear in mind, Gerry was not obliged to do any of this - the guitar he sold me was perfect. This level of customer service is unheard of in my experience. I would not hesitate to buy from Guitar Gallery again and I cannot thank Gerry enough -- the BR-361 is perfect!

Ty Mark: Purchased the Romero Creations RC-ST-K Concert Ukulele.Received it yesterday and it's everything I was expecting. Tiny Tenor sound in a soprano length instrument. Comes stringed with Low G and sounds lovely. This will be my new travel ukulele for work and pleasure.Great service from Gerry, highly recommended if you're looking for musical instrument.

Danielle: I highly recommend supporting Guitar Gallery, a wonderful local small business. Gerry is most generous and has a wealth of knowledge. He recently helped me with the purchase of and set up of my first violin and kindly shared his time, and a lot of advice for me as a beginner. Starting to learn any instrument can be overwhelming, but speaking with a professional like Gerry gives you confidence. It has been such a great experience and the personalised customer service has gone above and beyond compared with most orders I place online. It is refreshing! Fast shipping as well. Thank you so much Gerry, I truly appreciate all of your help and support. Definitely five stars! - Danielle

Annie Coppinger: An extensive range of instruments and great personal service from a knowlegable musician. Thank you.
