Second Chance Cycles: what do users think?

steven guzman: Excellent place, recommended.

Maggie K: I arrived on a Thursday but unfortunately they had just ran out of multi speed bicycles and only fixed speeds left so told me to come back on the Tuesday when their new shipment arrived!Got a very decent pretty new bike for $100, even David said himself it’s one of the nicer ones they’ve received in a while! Super happy with my purchase and also got the helmet and lock for $50

Jeff Busby: The nicest, most helpful people we've encountered in a long time. Nice selection of refurbished used bikes. $50 gets a functional bike. Entrance is down the ramp on east side of street through a door. Shop is way back in right corner of empty underground garage.

Kseniia Khmel: Found this shop by chance when my bike broke down on the way to work. The bike was not worth repairing, but had plenty of decent parts that can be reused, so these guys happily took it off my hands, and I even managed to pick up a decent mountain bike for 50 bucks! Super friendly stuff and a great cause, will most definitely be returning here for any bike repairs or my next bike!

Katie J: Amazingly helpful staff plus great quality, cheaply priced bikes. Good to know the money also goes to a good cause. Thank you!

Jolien van Delft: Great place. Friendly and helpful staff and good bikes for good prices.

Andrea Narayan: Needed a simple bike to get to and from work. The guys here helped me find exactly what I needed and set me up to ride out of the shop.Sweetest customer service, a solid bike at an incredible price and a lovely cause to contribute to.Please consider checking these guys out first before going elsewhere!

Ha Thanh Bui: Love this place! I came to buy an affordable bike for going to school and work. David helped me choose a cool bike that suits me! They also offer fixing services for your bike, and free bikes for healthcare card owners. Good place for a good deed!

Tomás Cerezo: These guys are the best bike shop you can get in the whole world. Two other stores refused to help me because my bike is quite strange and not so well built, but they made their biggest effort to help me and they solved the issue. They are a community service and are excellent at it. They didn't want me to pay but I got them a little gift. Do yourself a favor and come here and have a great time fixing your bike

Olivia Darivas: A great business with a great cause. Came in today and was greeted by a dynamic and friendly lot, who were repairing and selling bikes that have been completely transformed for a second life. Truly appreciate how there are hidden gems like these around the area, that provide quick and very affordable service.

Johnno Page reviews: fantastic charity this group get old bikes and re births them and either donates or sell cheaply to those who would not otherwise be able to have a bike. They are located in the old underground carpark , this place is a easy train ride and a short walk to access . They do fantastic work for the community

The Bike Shed: what do users think?

Austin G: When’s the next Sunday workshop!!!

Mona Kristevic: Just spent the afternoon being supported through replacing broken spokes and rebalancing a wheel. The staff are really helpful, friendly and keen to share knowledge. Particularly impressive on busy days like today. Such a privilege to have this resource in the community.

Tim Stew: this is a fantastic place to have your bike fixed and serviced right on the beautiful merry Creek in Brunswick East/North kit,

Lewis Evans: A great place, volunteers are run off their feet but still very lovely and happy to help. More places like this are needed!

K R: An amazing place and community for people into cycling. I went here without any knowledge about how to fix a bike up, but the volunteers here were really friendly in helping me sort my bike out. Staff were very patient and extremely helpful in helping me understand what I was doing and what needed to be done to my bike. Can't recommend enough

Jac Pizi: Bought a second hand bike from here and the volunteers are always super helpful anytimr I go back for some bike help or spare part

Snow: A wonderful combination of a peaceful environment and a hive of activity. Super helpful and patient volunteers.

Aristea Porfiri: Thank you Bike Shed for helping us with our donation of great bikes to two Autistic children who rarely leave their home. The family were so blown away with your generosity and the fact their daughter learnt to ride a bike within a day! The family wrote ‘it can be very difficult as everything MUST be PERFECT or it proves that she is a failure and not worth existing… well worth celebrating… the huge leap was when she returned to the bike after the first attempt was unsuccessful’. Thanks for helping a family in need, thanks for making MAGIC happen! Please note, we are unable to publish photos of the children, we just posted the bikes. Than you.

Damien Rudd: Dan was a lifesaver helping me with my bike. Such a great community space and workshop

Xen Leopard: Had a great experience here yesterday - turned up at the end of the day and the guys were super helpful. They helped me find a great bike and even gave me a very generous discount. Highly recommend - not only do these folks know what they’re doing but they genuinely want to help

M L: Bought a beautiful vintage looking Tokyo Bike there on a saturday for $160. They added a basket for an extra $10 for me. Amazing bike has been taking me everywhere and exploring Melbourne in the most fun way. Rides super smooth and I couldn't be happier. On Thursdays they have workshops to fix your own bike with the help of volunteers and staff. It's super educational and an amazing/cheap opportunity to learn how to maintain, fix, clean your bike. Really amazing and informed staff and all around good vibes to be at.

Brittany Chin: Bought a bike from here, very helpful volunteers, great experience.

Aravindh Vijayakumar: One of the best place to fix your bike, learn, socialise, explore, experience and volunteer for a greater cause.

J Pascale: Such an incredible initiative with great bikes and even better service. Thank you Andrew for all of your help.

2Stroke: I am visiting Melbourne for about 5 weeks and decided to pick up an el cheapo bike to get around occasionally. Picked up one locally on Marketplace but I soon realised it needed work…and all my tools are back in Newcastle . “The Bike Shed” came to the rescue. Andrew and Serge were were extremely friendly and helpful and soon helped me get my cheap bike into a decent shape for minimal cost. This is a great community service.

David Wrigley: was fantastic! They helped and showed us a huge number of quick and easy fixes for our bikes
