Welcome to Melbourne Coffee Academy! Our goal is to offer the most complete, effective and cutting edge barista courses in the coffee industry. With a combined 35 years experience, we understand the necessary training required to excel at the highest level. All classes are small, focused and committed to achieving results.

I took two classes at Melbourne Coffee Academy (Basic Espresso and Latte Art) last week and both classes were amazing! The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and I loved that the classes were so hands on. It gave me the confidence to get behind the coffee machine and start making coffees straight away!


Loved every minute of this course! My girlfriend got me it as a present and I couldn't have been happier. Justin was enthusiastic and answered every single question. He's a great teacher and clearly an outstanding barista. Would reccommend this to anyone starting out or just wanting to refine their basic skills.


I have just finished the Basic Espresso and Barista apprenticeship course with Justin. I had a wonderful time and learnt so much about coffee and how to make a good coffee. There was 3 of us on the course which meant we all got to make lots of coffee’s and learn as much as possible. A great experience thank u Justin & Charles. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to be a barista or learn about how to make a good coffee.


I absolutely enjoyed the Basic Espresso + Barista Apprenticeship courses - it was a pleasure to be mentored by the talented and fun MCA gang - Justin, Frank and Charles - and I feel so much more confident with my home barista skills and job prospects as an aspiring barista. The experience is truly unique which no other barista training companies seem to offer, and would absolutely do the courses again just for fun! Glad to be joining the MCA community as well! :) 110% would recommend if you're hoping to look for a job, better your coffee making skills, or even be inspired by speciality coffee from these legends!


The only real introduction if you want to become a Barista! From the start you can see how enthusiastic and knowledgeable Justin and Charles are about the world of coffee. They are also dedicated to try to form a much needed bridge from coffee lover to working barista. Without this course I don't think that jump would be possible and thanks to them I was offered a job in the CBD making coffees to my hearts content. I would recommend this to anyone, whether that's to become a barista or just to open up a new coffee filled world and learn an incredibly fun skill! Thanks again Justin and Charles.


This school allows you to learn coffee knowledge and hands on barista experience. I took basic espresso course and barista apprenticeship course for 5 days in total. The lecturer Justin was so committed to letting us make good coffee and helped me to serve more than 100 cups within a few hours. The apprenticeship one was intense but it worth diving into full on barista environment with good help from the lecturer.


A great course for any coffee lover who wants to know what goes into preparing a great tasting latte. Justin was a fantastic teacher, extremely patient and by the end of the session, we could even pull off basic latte art! If you already have a machine at home, the coffee you'll now be able to coax out of that that will go up several notches. Highly recommended.


Made a right choice to choose Melbourne Coffee Academy. Justin runs the class excellently. Definitely consider doing another course.


The Basic Espresso course was so well structured and in depth. I loved how there was both theory and practical, to help us better understand what we were learning. Justin was an excellent instructor - super attentive and tailored the course and advice to each of our skill level. I came with no experience in making espresso drinks but left able to make a decent latte! An amazing course and school, I will definitely be back for their other courses when I'm back in Melbourne! Great experience, lots of fun - 100% recommend it.
