Nam Loong Chinese Restaurant: what do users think?

William Chu: Satay Chicken, Pork & Century Egg Congee. Satay chicken, the sauce was spicy and salty. Some parts of the dish was more saltier. Chicken was very tender, and soft. The whole broccoli was used, including the stem, and not cut into smaller pieces. The congee was a bit thin, had too much water for me. Tea is served on request. Staff are very quick and attentive to take the order, the food came out quickly, and hot. Was very busy on a Sunday night, and not too noisy inside for a casual restaurant.

Ong Geok Beng Stev: Nice food.

Andrianna H: Combination Meat and Veg on Crispy Noodles

Cyrus Chung: Pretty and straight💯Comfort food for HongKonger

Malcolm Young: 2024: This place has been here since the dawn of time, and will probably still be here after that. The menu's been relatively unchanged, very affordable, though the bao's have lost a bit of zing.****2009: The Quintessential Roast Pork Bun of Melbourne.Very deceptive, gritty, low-key ambience housing the best BBQ Roast Pork buns in Melbourne.I've tried these buns in many places around the world and these truly are the best. The meat mixture is flavourous, with just the right amount of sauciness and wrapped in a soft fluffy bread bun.The other menu items aren't too bad, but you need only come here for these buns.*****

K Bulsuk: The food is delicious, the people friendly, and always the same faces. It has virtually become my cafeteria, and I visit it often because of the excellent price-taste-quantity ratios. The food always comes out fast and there is always hot tea served.Everything is good, especially the buns which are also available cold, so you can take them home and steam them yourself for another day.

Sarah Burns: Great bao!

Michelle Ersan: Favourite place to go for dumplings.

Glenn Busuttil: A hidden gem. Small in size but big on flavour and service. Stumbled on it by chance and have been back several times and never fails to satisfy! Highly recommend.

Brad Hammond: Great as always. My fave dumpling joint in the city, cheap and cheerful and always delish.Friendly staff too

Kaukau Karauria: Food was delicious and cheap

Jasmine Viviana: I love this place. Me and my partner go there regularly because of the dumplings and being super affordable. I mainly go there for the supreme rice vermicelli noodles as it reminds me of a local restaurant in Hong Kong. The place is never too crowded and the aesthetics is a bonus

San Vatana: Nice foods and good service

Desmond Siu: Pretty cool that you can order with iPad, I went an hour before they close so it wasn't crowded. Food was quick and fairly priced

Ramin: Absolutely delicious food. Modern way of putting orders in a tablet and quick preparation. Will go there again.

Jai Nordo: Went to this place with my family and my mate who is a chef was nice fast a friendly dumplings where the winners cost $130 for 6 people and we were all full and happy

Jeffrie Trika: 7/10 enjoyable dumplings and Chinese staples, check out that oily noodles, beautiful.Booths, reasonable price and service.

lauren lee: All the menus were very good except the fried pork buns, they were too burns at the bottom. The staff was kind.

Russty Mango: Very good food for the price, not white table cloth dining experience but decor is still nice. Very satisfying food

Shanghai Street Dumpling & Mini Juicy Bun小街小籠館: what do users think?

Kangmin Ko: When I visit here during dinner time on a Friday, many people were waiting there. So I took a walk around the city and came back here 30 minutes before it closed, then I was able to eat right away without waiting.I ordered two foods. Mapo Tofu with rice and steamed XIAO LONG BAO.Xiao Long Bao was juicy and fragrant.Mapo Tofu had strong mala flavor. Was satisfied with the foods. GooooodYou have to wait during meal times. There were quite a few people there even after meal time and before closing, but we didn't have to wait.I ordered pork xiao long bao and mapo tofu, and the xiao long bao was full of meat and had a strong flavor. You can eat it with soy sauce or something else, but it was delicious even when eaten as is. The mapo tofu had a strong flavor. I ate both. There is an additional 2.5% added to credit card payments.

fuzzynz: We had read that this place can often have a queue and I’m not surprised as the food was delicious. We ordered dumplings and bao along with a kungpao chicken for two of us and when it arrived we realized that it was enough for 4 people. Cant beat the price though at less than $50 so well worth the visit and we came away with a nice doggy bag for dinner the next night as well - bonus!

ShanDong MaMa Mini: what do users think?

Luca Racz: 11/10 dumplings! Seriously hit the spot

Laura McGillivray: Shandong Mama Mini is a hidden gem! Their pork belly bun is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere - seriously, they're the best. When I first tried them, I became borderline obsessed, coming back every single day for two weeks straight. I had to eventually pump the brakes because, it was getting a tad embarrassing. But those buns and are pure bliss! Not only is the food incredible, but the staff are also lovely and friendly, adding to the whole experience. The restaurant in itself has a great vibe. Tucked away in an alley, Shandong Mama Mini has this cool, hole-in-the-wall feel that just adds to its charm. It's become my go-to spot to bring friends and family visiting Melbourne, and every single person I've taken there love it. Definitely recommend this place if you haven't yet tried it!

Lim PN: Fresh, Great & Delicious Pan-Fried Dumplings!Shandong Mama Mini's Pan Fried Dumplings was highly recommended to us by one of our relative bcos it was my favourite snack food. At first, we were skeptical it can taste good bcos it is a small shop, located at the Central Place, a great arcade little laneway. We chose to reach there after lunch hours and it was still full house with only one table left at the front foyer for us. We tried their Signature Mackerel Fish, Wagyu Beef, Chicken Shepherd's Purse and Prawns, Pork Black Fungus & Chives types. All of us were surprised that it tasted really Fresh, Great & Delicious. The dumplings were crispy at the bottom, soft on top, with savoury juicy tender fillings of good flavours and not too salty. The doneness was excellent, as it is not so oily or soggy. It was at another level of tastiness when we dipped them in their Vinegar sauce provided.Different fillings were all delicious and we especially love their Signature Mackerel Fish & Wagyu Beef ones. We found ourselves going back the second time just the next day and this time, we also ordered for takeaway for a friend's parents to try. They gave much praises on it too.Thereafter, we were amazed when we saw that there were write ups about them at MENU MOMENTS THAT WE LOVE, at NEIL PERRY'S PICKS & at FORBES Magazine and the shop Owner told us that they were rated as the 3rd Best Dumplings seller in Melbourne. No wonder the dumplings tasted awesome.Friendly and efficient staff too, especially Steven. Must go if you are in Melbourne CBD. Totally, Definitely Recommended!👍👍👍😋😋😋

Red Cliff Authentic Chinese Restaurant: what do users think?

Kangna Zhang (张康纳): Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service was fantastic. We ordered the twice cooked pork, cauliflower, and half a Peking duck to share between 4 of us, and it was all very delicious. Additionally, we ordered 4 bowls of rice to go along with the food, however the waiter informed us that as the Peking duck came with a plate of rice already, we could cancel 2 bowls of rice and save a bit of money. Very thoughtful! Will definitely be coming back.

F Paul: , stinky tofu

Kristen: , friendly staff and speedy service! The best part is that it is super reasonably priced with huge portion size. Our fav was the Roasted Lamb Ribs and the Lotus Root Pork Soup! Lamb was so flavourful and cooked to perfection. The soup was so amazing too and tasted like how my mom cooks it at home 🏼We definitely over ordered and the left over is enough for the next day! 100% would come back again :

Foodie Luwee: is our group’s favourite, surprisingly we all agreed that this dish was definitely the best out of everything we’ve tried. It was seasoned nicely and the texture was just right for us. the place also has a lot of lantern lights and wall decor which is very instagrammable.

Nguyen Xuan Ha Anh (Milu): so this should be aware before visiting here. This place could also be mentioned as Melbourne Cheap Eats as the food here were quite big with affordable price..We had a range of selections of authentic Chinese food such as:- Peking Duck

Papa gateau: Red Cliff in Melbourne’s CBD is a cute tucked away restaurant that delivers a punch when it comes to flavor. We love the dishes we tried there .*The stir-fry diced duck with fresh chili was a standout. The duck pieces was perfectly cooked, the highlight was the generous amount of fresh chili that delivered a satisfying kick without overwhelming the other flavors.*The boiled basa slice in golden sauerkraut spicy soup was an intriguing choice. The basa itself was mild, but the real star was the broth. The tanginess of the sauerkraut played nicely against the subtle spice, creating a complex and interesting flavor profile.*The fried water spinach was a classic done well. The greens were perfectly cooked, retaining a slight crunch, and the garlic sauce offered a savoury and garlicky punch.*Stir-fried wagyu beef with black pepper sauce, didn’t quite live up to the rest. While the wagyu was undeniably tender, the black pepper sauce was a bit oily... It felt a touch one-note compared to the bolder flavors of the other dishes.Overall, Red Cliff offers a solid option for those seeking a flavorful and authentic Chinese dining experience in the Melbourne CBD. Just be sure to explore beyond the standard stir-fries to discover the more exciting offerings on the menuVegetarian options: Stir fry water spinach

Florianti Sjaaf: spicy green beans with minced chickenFood: 5/5Recommended dishes Crispy Pork Omelette on Rice …

Pete: would give a 5/5 if they remove the veins on the sides of the long bean.2. Stirred fried cumin beef created the perfect texture with red chill and sliced onion

Kimberly Maxwell: Cheap and yummy food available for lunch and dinner. You can have a filling meal for less than $20. The signature dishes include the omelette and egg chiffon on rice with your choice of meat or veggies. Menu is massive, so if you can’t decide, try something from the top 10!I had the veggie egg chiffon, which comes with a yummy sauce. My friends enjoyed the crispy pork omelette on rice. Also, if it’s just you and another person, be careful it is a $40 minimum for card, and they really won’t budge on it.So bring cash if you’re only one or two people. Overall a solid cheap ways option for Melbourne.Vegetarian options: Veggie stir fry and egg on rice options

vorrawut judasri: Must try this restaurant if you are a crispy pork lover, their crispy pork omelette is the best in CBD to die for! I've been back countless times.Tip: Eat it with their chili oils for an extra kick of flavor…it's unbeatable.Just to be aware, they have a card minimum of $40, so bring cash if you're dining solo. And while the restaurant may not have the cleanest vibes, trust me, the food more than makes up for it and they also served the free hot tea . Highly recommended for a mouthwatering experience! 🙂

Shanghai Street (Chinatown) 小籠館: what do users think?

Jess: There was a line when we arrived but moved very quickly! Service was extremely quick and everything came out at a great pace, the strawberry cocktail jug was delicious along with all the food. I’d definitely recommend the kung pao chicken it was not too spicy just the right amount. Dumplings were okay, slightly a bit overcooked. Overall a really yummy meal! Would defs come back

LiV3 LiFe: Shanghai street is a ground level diner - serving Chinese food such as xiao long bao and pan fried pork dumplings. There is almost always a queue outside the shop for dining in. There is a separate queue for takeaways. Takeaways would take an estimated 15 to 20 minutes wait. The service is good. The cashier did make aware of Sunday surcharges and international credit card surcharges. Food was good for Melbourne standards.Kid-friendliness: Family place.

k10: Delicious food.

alex barsukov: We were looking for a place to eat lunch in chinatown, We passed by the restaurant and saw it was pretty full, we checked online the reviews and they were good. so we decided to try it .All the dishes we ordered were delicious and big. the staff and service was friendly and fast .The atmosphere in the restaurant is good and the place is very clean .Highly recommended

Francesca Lam: Good food. good staff. 10/10.Vegetarian options: Vg xiaolungbao. Strifried veggie.

Alex Dunne: Don't be surprised that there's a queue, but it's for a reason. The black bean beef, shanghai noodle, and of course the dumplings were all terrific, I'm not surprised it was highly recommended to me to visit both times I've visited Melbourne.Vegetarian options: existsWheelchair accessibility: It's road accessible so should be doable

Dave S: , so it wasn't a WOW experience, but everything went swimmingly - food came out quickly, food was nice and staff friendly enough!A good wee joint post a comedy gig for me!Zip Spam: No relevance to this review but I do have Zip at home enjoying some TV

ella cruz: For someone with coeliac, chinese food is something i’d never thought i’d be able to eat again but thanks to ROBOMAO, my dreams have come true! obviously it wouldn’t be as amazing to someone who can eat chinese whenever, but robomao do such an amazing job with their gluten free meals and preparation that eating there is a stress free experience. I would give 10 stars if i could. i only wish they had gluten free custard buns haha!

d Spit: Casual Chinese dining in the heart of China Town. Excellent gluten free menu with several options.Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free Chinese dishes.

Abigail Cross: Offered gluten feee options straight away, servers had good knowledge of gluten free ingredients and were coeliac aware. There was seperate and extensive menu which is great, despite slight price increase. Other dishes were large portion size and delicious. Helpful servers, would definitely recommend!Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free!

Harry Kuenen: cannot be faulted at all. Just good in relation to the price. The atmosphere is as you would expect in such a restaurant

Azmeer Rayaan-Ul-Arfeen: Great Tandoori Chicken! I felt like I was back in india eating pakora. Make sure to look for Ansh, he is a great worker and helped me find the toilet!!! Great toilet, great music, great lighting. Food? Yes there was food.

David L: Good taste and reasonable price

Andrew 黄延祺 Huang: We were happily surprised by the food at this restaurant. Both kids gave the "salted chicken with bone" dry noodles 咸鸡拌面 the thumbs up. No easy feat.

Gerardo G: Great Shanghai style Chinese restaurant. The pan fried dumplings are a must, with crispy bottom and light steamed dough on top. Also their homemade noodles are great, I reccomend the noodles with pork and green beans. Great value and a good place to go as a group.

Tom Rhodes: Fantastic little eatery. We ordered the fried duck, and they came over and said they only had a small portion left, and gave us options on what they could replace it with. When the food came, they gave us the small amount of Fried Duck they had, plus some fried chicken and some marinated duck. This level of service is incredible. They didn't charge us for the additional items. The chicken and prawn dumplings are great, as is the vegtable noodles. For us, the price was reasonable, though we know there are cheaper places around, but the vibe and the food was worth the price in my opinion. We will be back.

Lars Andersson: Very friendly service. Noodles were good but not great. My daughter loved the duck with noodle soup

Alexandre Borba: Delicious food and excellent service! I I’ll definitely go back more times.

Mark C: Tried their dumplings and black bean beef noodles - tasted pretty good! Nothing outstanding but a quiet place to grab food with your friends.

Mark Westgate: The dumplings were very tasty and the chicken fried rice was great.

Felix Chang: stopped me in my tracks, literally, as I haven't had this dish in a long while. We got in pretty early for lunch, the place was quite empty at around 1130am. We were greeted by their friendly but 'new' staff I think, as he asked us to sit at a 6x person table when we only had 2x, and quickly got corrected by the manager/owner when he happened to walk in just after us. Ah, it's all good. We aimed to have a quick bite, and that's what we got. Quick and easy. Well, I guess awesome timing, as the joint got super busy within half an hour after we sat down. We ordered 3 dishes, the xiao long bao, a spring onion pancake which is my all time fav as I used to make that with my dad when I was a kid, and, a steam pork and veg dumpling. The xiao long bao was last to come but it was outstanding, tasty hot soup flowing out of the bun as soon as you bite into it.The pan fried spring onion pancake was beautifully crispy on the outside, also tasty, but I found it to be a little too 'mushy' on the inside, but still, a decent enough pancake. The steam dumplings were first to come. They were tasty, but could have been a little hotter

Jordan J: Lovely staff, delicious food

Bosko Markoski: The China Bar on Russell St Melbourne has a very delicious menu with very reasonable prices. I have been going to the China Bar for well over 20 year's now. I was driving through Russell St and I thoughtthat i would get a deliousSeafood Laksa noodlesoup for lunch. There wasa homeless man sittingon the opposite table tome. I was absolutelyamazed at the generosityof one of the staffmembers there. Hecouldn't afford to buy ameal but the young lady working there told the man to wait so she couldask the manager to makehim a meal for free. I was ready to tell the younglady that I would pay forthe gentleman's meal butshe came back with the great news telling the man that they will make him a meal for free. The China Bar restaurant won my taste bud's over a very long time ago and nowthey have also won myheart over as well.
