These are available across our primary locations in Melbourne – Albert Park, Abbotsford, Burwood East and Oakleigh East.


More commonly than often thought, problem dogs can cause issues with home-life both within the family and the dog itself. In these cases, it’s important to seek professional help to resolve or prevent the issue from reoccurring.


Carrying expertise as a professional dog trainer and expert in canine aggression, Basil Theofanides is well-versed in dealing with problems like aggressiveness; which, when left unattended, can be severely detrimental. 4worldlovers: You can register to join the club on Sundays before classes commence but please come early. Classes begin at 10 sharp.

You will need to bring : your fees/credit card, current vaccination certificate, and a completed membership form. (See the blue link below.) Tap and go is our preferred payment method rather than cash, although cash will still be accepted.

We have a new fee structure this year. The fees are as follows: $30 new sign up and $3 per class. $13 returning member and $3 per class. Concession$3.

If you are unable to make the registration day you can still register on any Sunday between 9.00 and 9.45.

Classes start at 10 o’clock sharp so we are asking all members to please arrive by 9.30. You will then have plenty of time to pay your $3 at Vera’s window.

After you have done this please take the opportunity to mix with the other members and let your dog socialise with the other dogs. This is an important part of your dog’s training. Please watch your dog and be aware that not all dogs enjoy boisterous play. Be aware of dogs wearing yellow bandanas as these dogs may be particularly uncomfortable with other dogs invading their space.

Please remember to bring a lead ( normal type, not retractable) and some yummy treats for your dog. It is also a good idea to have a waist pouch or bag that allows you to quickly access your treats.

Please note that puppies must be at least 4 months of age and have had their final vaccination to participate in classes.

1. Please go to Vera’s window first. She will take your $3 and record that you have paid and that you are in attendance. This is really important for insurance purposes.

2. Just before 10 am we will meet just outside the club house and let you know where to go for your class.

3. All dogs need to be on lead before class at 9.50 and after class until 11.10.

Please pick up your dog droppings. Free bags are available at Vera’s window.

Make sure you have treats. If you have forgotten you can get some from Vera.

If you have a dog that may be unpredictable around other dogs please use one of our yellow bandanas. These let other members know not to let their dogs ‘get in your dog’s face.’ You can get one at Vera’s window but please return it straight after class.

If you are not sure if classes are running due to inclement weather please check the Facebook page. At 9am the decision will be posted. You can also click on the weather icon on this website or phone Vera or Jim if you need to. Their numbers are on the Contact page with the weather icon.

Parking. The local residents have requested that we please don’t park in Tucker Avenue.

Please wear your name badge. This helps us to get to know you better.

If you would like to join the club you can do so any Sunday when classes are running, but please arrive early so that we can sign you up and get to classes at 10 sharp.

We require that you bring: your completed membership registration form, your dog’s current vaccination certificate, membership fee ($30.00) along with the class fee ($3.00) and a selection of Yummy Treats.

With a clear focus on making your pet the best companion, we teach you and your family the skills to keep your dog happy and well socialized with other pets and people. We help rehabilitate rescued dogs and give puppies a good start, and are confident that our classes will help strengthen the bond between you and your pet. Most importantly, training sessions are held in an environment much like a visit to the park, ensuring that your dog learns to behave off-leash and in public.

BCDTS is located in Bentleigh, in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

Enrolments are taken every Sunday and Thursday. If you need to register please arrive 30 minutes before class, allowing time to enrol and for your puppy to get some excited energy out of its system before class starts.

We understand that everyone’s situation is different! Hence we provide flexibility in our training so that members can progress in manner that fits their capabilities and commitments. Each of our grades develops core skills, but progress is tailored to the individual and dog.
