But only affiliates of the Australian Karate Federation (AKF) can be considered eligible. Not all karate schools are affiliated and therefore not all are recognised by the Australian Olympic Committee. Kassis Karate Academy has been affiliated to the AKF for the last 30 years, and is one of the leading academies producing some of Australia’s best athletes. So we definately meet the eligibility criteria, next it simply comes down to the ranking of athletes around the world, as only the best of the best will participate!

I began studying Jujitsu in early 1990 and I can honestly say I have enjoyed every moment. During that time I have been fortunate enough to travel to Japan, United Kingdom, Sth Africa, New Zealand and all over Australia to learn, train and occasionally teach the odd seminar or two.

​After the school I was training in closed down I started the Melbourne based Martial arts school in Preston around 1998. Over time it has grown to become the biggest Dojo for this type of Martial Arts training in the southern hemisphere with quite literally thousands of students studying at our school over the years. Many have reached Black Belt and of those many have stayed on continuing their studies for longer than 10 and even more than 20 years.

I have to thank my amazing staff and students for all their support over the years.

This is a wonderful, family friendly, supportive Martial Arts School. I can’t recommend it enough, and am constantly telling friends and family to come and join in!

We started with my daughters doing jujitsu two years ago and now I go to the kickboxing classes too. All the instructors are supportive, and make the classes fun, whilst still pushing you to be your best and give it your all.
