CHARLIE LAW – VOCAL/SINGING, GUITAR, PIANO/KEYBOARD, RECORDER, AND FLUTE TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

Charlie is a professional UK singer-songwriter, a BMG recording artist who also teaches music through voice/singing, guitar, piano/keyboards, recorder, and flute. Charlie started learning instruments from eight years old and has been working as a professional musician for over twelve years. With a lifelong love for music, he studied music and music technology at the University of Kingston upon the Thames in London.

Charlie has continued to grow as a solo performer and has toured professionally through the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. Doing shows and festivals Charlie has supported and gigged with great artists such as Ed Sheeran, Turin Brakes, Nick Harper, Jake Morley, James Gillespie and Blair Dunlop just to name a few. Charlie is a regular on BBC radio in the UK. Charlie has recorded his own albums and just recently completed his latest here in Australia. Charlie has also been involved in many session recordings.


Charlie is now based in Melbourne and we are thrilled to have him on our team. He has been teaching for over five years and he loves to inspire and motivate others. Charlie is available to teach children and adults of all ages, hobbyist to professional with all styles.

Charlie's teaching style is caring, supportive, engaging and fun. He is a very dedicated and passionate teacher with a wealth of knowledge to share. Through private lessons he takes the time to get to know the student and their learning style, curbing the lessons to their specific needs. In beginner lessons you will develop the way you hear music, attaining a basic understanding of music theory whilst developing technique on your instrument of choice. Charlie also encourages students to perform at our monthly concert held at the school when they are ready.

Although learning music can be challenging, his students want to practice, and through his considered guidance and positive reinforcement, he nurtures their individual gift. On their unique musical journey, it's astonishing seeing their talent and confidence grow and they meet their goals.

Our lessons are tailored to meet each student’s skill level and ambitions. We offer a complimentary introductory lesson to ensure every student is matched with the ideal educator.

Sheri started her musical journey learning classical piano from the age of seven. After completing her AMEB exams, Sheri completed her Bachelor of Popular Music, majoring in Production, Engineering and Songwriting at the Queensland Conservatorium.

Sheri has extensive experience performing, recording and touring with bands throughout Australia, Germany and the UK. She is the lead singer of the alternative band LeBelle, which won the Australian leg of Emergenza and was placed fifth in the world final in Germany. Sheri has played alongside Iggy Pop and Pendulum at the Taubertal Festival in Rothenburg, Germany, as well as recording a full length album with renowned producer Forrester Savell.

Sheri is a friendly, patient and down-to-earth educator. Her experience teaching in schools as well as in the Australian music scene makes her an ideal teacher for those looking to learn fundamentals, classical repertoire and contemporary songs.

A chance for students to share performances for friends and family in a beautiful venue

Guided by several teachers at MASoM, our younger students will have a chance to rehearse and perform in groups!

Our workshops are open to students of all ages and skill levels. They are held regularly throughout the term and provide students with an opportunity to perform works-in-progress and discuss music theory and history. Further performance opportunities are available to students through our jazz ensemble workshops.

We strongly value performance as part of our curriculum and encourage all students to play at our mid-year and end-of-year concerts. In 2023, our mid-year concert will be held on Sunday June 18th at the Abbotsford convent laundry hall. Our end-of-year concert has also been booked for December at the Abbotsford Convent. All students receive a professional audio and video recording of their performance.

We are very privileged to have some of Melbourne’s finest musicians perform regularly at our school. These performances are a wonderful way for students to experience live music in an intimate setting. Previous guests have included Lior, Ollie McGill, Husky, Luke Howard Trio, Tony Gould, The Grigoryan Brothers, Rob Burke, Steve & Bob Sedergreen and Paul Williamson’s Hammond Combo.
