Vue de monde: what do users think?

Beor Ong: Don't get me wrong, I think the restaurant is definitely a 5 star restaurant in terms of quality, service and atmosphere, however I dropped it a star only due to personal opinion.I felt that the dishes were created at the highest caliber, but in regards to creativity I felt that the dishes were a bit too basic. Once youve eaten A9 wagyu once it feels kind of like the same experience no matter where you go. Like I said, delicious, just not...exciting. End of the day I felt like I had just gone to a nice dinner with a friend. The most memorable dish for me funnily enough was a palette cleanser simply cause it was different, it was light with a nice flavor and it was an experience with dry ice freezing of the rose petals.Of course this review is pre-rennovation so there may have been some changes to the menu especially since its a different season, but personally I think it was a top restaurant experience that just played too safe. Amazing atmosphere, amazing staff, and amazing food still and everyone deserves the highest praise. This was more of a personal opinion more than anything

Jagdeesh Singh Dhaliwal: Magical and Unforgettable. My wife were out to lunch to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary: We are so pleased that we chose Vue De Monde.Where do I start with the praise?Let's go with the care and service as this really is beyond superb. Vue De Monde is the epitome of Australian quality: Seemingly effortless, discreetly coordinated, wonderfully warm and hugely welcoming. As soon as we arrived, staff simply 'took care of us.'European, Asian and American fine dining is superb and there are times when it's terrific to enjoy the formality, the decorum and dare I say the pomposity of a posh meal out.Yet what we excel at in Australia is quality delivered with our egalitarian sense of mateship and welcome and Vue De Monde has captured this beautifully: The timing of chairs being whisked and proffered for simultaneous seating, napkins draped for eating, menus and wine lists appearing, courses spaced for maximum delectation is to watch and experience a grand orchestra in motion.Oh and the views of Melbourne and the bar and the champagne cart and the cocktails and the wine and the food and the cheese cart and the tour of the kitchen...Sixteen courses of visually arresting creations with flavour combinations which brought us to momentary silence as we puzzled together the rich combinations...Our conversations ebbed and flowed as the flavours evoked memories, tastes and colours from our childhoods and also travel experiences from around the world. What an absolutely, pleasurably long and delightful celebratory lunch. After thirty years of marriage we enjoy not agreeing and we enjoy actively arguing about many things. But at the end of this lunch we were unequivocally of one mind: Vue de Monde has been - hands down - our best fine dining experience, ever.We are incredibly proud that it is here in our own home city and we do hope that visitors to Australia will not miss the chance to experience Vue de Monde and its quintessentially Australian approach to fine dining. Our congratulations to a terrific team.

Steve Meloche: My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and the staff was absolutely fantastic. They certainly made us feel like the only people there, even though I am sure they made everyone feel this way. This was a dining experience like no other. The food is remarkable to say the least, and the wine pairings were absolutely perfect.I would like to add that we are not people who are able to attend fine dining venues on a regular basis, which I am sure is apparent. It was a little out of our depth and could have made for an uncomfortable experience, but the staff made us feel completely at home and welcome. This is truly the top of the top establishment.

m m: A simply perfect evening. We chose Vue as a special place to celebrate an important milestone and were absolutely delighted. It exceeded all our expectations. The food was clever, innovative showcased local ingredients and most importantly delicious. The Service was genuine informative, and perfectly attentive. The venue is stunning. Thank you!

Quentin Jones: Delightful experience all round. Loved the variety of flavours, textures and presentation. The kitchen tour was a special surprise - thanks! And wonderful 20th anniversary note signed by all staff warmed our hearts.Thank you!Quentin and Margherita

Leo Hemsley: Celebrating a birthday at Vue de Monde was an unforgettable experience, marked by impeccable service and culinary brilliance. From the moment we stepped into the elegant Lui Bar, the evening began on a high note. The cocktails, especially the “Million Dollar Baby,” were expertly crafted and set the tone for the experience.Opting for the chef’s tasting menu, we were treated to a parade of dishes, each more innovative and exquisitely presented than the last. The attention to detail was apparent, and every aspect of the menu was tailored to perfection, enhancing the celebratory mood. The service at Vue de Monde was unparalleled. The servers were not only exceptionally attentive but also brought a warm, humorous, and knowledgeable presence that enriched our dining experience. Their recommendations, including a selection from the cigar menu to conclude our evening, were spot-on.Vue de Monde is more than just fine dining; it’s an experience that caters flawlessly to all of your expectations and more. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate in style and indulge in some of the finest dining Melbourne has to offer.I look forward to returning.

At Amo: The price to quality is good for food and drinks. Service was great and drinks are at good prices. Baked mussels are flavorful. The mussels are not big enough to handle the amount of sauce, maybe they are not in season. The beef cheek has great tender texture. Extra more seasoning will make it perfect. The chicken roll dish has excellent flavour. If it is done in sous vide style, it will be the best.

James Hughes: Remains excellent. No trip to Melbourne is complete without a little taste of Paris. Superb food, excellent wait staff with nothing more to do than make your meal the best.Vegetarian options: There are some

Florentino: what do users think?

Dogus Saydar: What an amazing experience!Florentino delivers again, in all aspects. The staff are very tentative and polite, and I can not praise the floor enough from the manager to the waiters. You really feel as though you've taken a little step into fine dining Italy! Now, coming to the food, the duck tortellini was absolutely divine, I could not stop going back for more. The pear within the sauce gave me flashbacks to my childhood! My partner chose the ragu, being a ragu fan she was delighted with how well prepared and balanced the flavours where. We opted for red wine, which the staff were very helpful with pairing and finished off with their famous house tiramisu, which I would urge all who dine here to definitely try.On top of everything, knowing it was our anniversary, the team really went above and beyond with all aspects of service!Special compliments to the chefs and cooking staff for executing every dish that we ate with pure perfection.Florentino is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne!

martin stephenson: Excellent food moderate portions Top notch service

Alexander Di Blasi: Just divine. A true Melbourne institution of fine dining, elegance and impeccable service. The mural room is just heavenly. Eternal thanks to all the staff for their attentative service. Viva grossi florentino!

Samantha Donnabella: Went to Grill for my birthday dinner. Place was very busy but was amazed by how attentive staff were, especially Sergio, who recommended a beautiful bottle of Pinot Noir & Chocolate souffle! We went there for Bisteka Florentina & was delicious, has swordfish and Italian sausages for entrees. By 7.30-8ish the pace in the grill was frenetic but very structured, l watch all staff in these moments after years of working in hospitality & it was a well oiled team. Maybe a little noisy toward the end but that's ok, l go an early dinner again next time. I honestly don't think prices were too bad either, paid a lot more for worse. Highly recommended 🍾

Bergerac Restaurant: what do users think?

Rene: An institution of French food. Always amazing. Expensive, but an an experience.

Nina Sargent: and that was pretty damn good as well. Ma Femme ordered the fish special and loved it. Desserts were typical but good and they kept us supplied with nice bread.

darnell mcmillan: A group of 22 of us had lunch at Bergerac today. Their two course lunch special is very good value and the choices offered met the needs of everyone in the group. We also enjoyed wines from the excellent wine list. The staff who looked after our group, Cecilia and Jean-Guilhem were very patient and provided excellent service to a "noisy" crowd. Would recommend this restaurant for their food, ambience and staff.

Zoran Sterjovski: 👌

Pascal Inard: Delicious cuisine, authentic, very good atmosphere, good price - I love it!

Amanda H: There is nothing bad on this menu.I hadn't been in about 10 years, and the menu doesn't seem to have changed since then, which I was very pleased about, because it's always been perfect. They have various beautiful seafood and meat dishes. It's not the cheapest place, but we'll worth the money. Great place for a date night.Don't fill up the non stop supply of bread!

John Patison: Excellent food and service, only a little hampered by access caused by works outside.

Christina Nana: Food was good especially the lobster was tender. Service could be improved, too slow.

Helen Dos Santos: I really enjoyed this restaurant, linguine clean and fresh tasting, veal cotoletta was very good, Fritto misto was very nice and shared for an entree, Suckling pig special was full of flavour and juicy not dry. Chocolate pudding was quickly eaten and delicious and the gelato and sorbet was some of the best I have had. A delicious meal in a very elegant setting. Our server was also very good and professional. a great night out.

Mathew Szeleczky: Lovely restaurant. Very accommodating with well behaved young children. Staff were fantasticKid-friendliness: Like any upmarket restaurant that is targeted and designed for adults, they are more than happy to have children that are supervised

Andrew Sanginiti: Lume offers a unique culinary journey. Their innovative dishes, blending local ingredients with creative flair, tantalize the taste buds. They offer absolutely exceptional service and a cozy ambiance complement the exquisite menu, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.

Po Po: Tasting menu plus wine pairing is really wonderful experience. Impeccable service from friendly and pleasant staff. Worth mentioning the coffee in the end is great too.

Camyla Lacerda: Recommended dishes Mushroom and Macadamia Tart

Glenys Poon: Had their 13+ course tasting menu last night and it was amazingUnexpected flavours and textures with incorporation of indigenous ingredients and flavours.Restaurant ambience was good, neutral toned minimalist interior gave it a modern vibe which fit well with its inventive menuStaff were friendly and despite being a solo diner I did not feel like they were attempting to rush meIt’s fine dining so the price might not be accessible to everyone. But it’s actually relatively cheap compared to other places I’ve visited

Emma13 Lee: Delicious but quite expensiveRecommend salty food products

elwyn F3011: Great service…. Happy to move our table to another spot … fantastic looking place… food was excellent… beautiful presentation.. great flavours… excellent wines by the glass… and freshly made cocktails were superb… veryLikely that we’ll go back… nice touch with the small box with a chocolate for a birthday gift

Paul Fowler: Outstanding in every way. If Michelin rated restaurants in Melbourne, Lume would have at least one and probably two stars. In other words, a world-class dining experience in South Melbourne!

Foglia Di Fico: what do users think?

cheng shao en: How a lovely cozy restaurant and excellent service, feel like in Italy! The taste of every bite and every dish is amazing. The raw beef paired with tuna is so delicious. The seafood is super fresh. The sweetness of scallops and seafood fills the entire mouth. The last lamb is amazing, so tender and delicate without any irritation. The truffled potatoes were delicious and stacking them with grilled lemon was a great idea to add more layers of richness and you can definitely feel the chef’s passion for it. will definitely come back!

Zolzaya Luvsandorj: were lovely, but I found panna cotta tasted better, hope it comes back to the menu. Service is great, very lovely, non pretentious people.

Andy Hoang: My partner and I had a wonderful experiencing dining at this establishment. Our reservation was originally at 7:15 and we both finished work early and called the receptionist if we were able to come in earlier. We knew that the restaurant was a booking only but they were very accomodating to us and manage to squeeze us in 2 hours earlier. We ordered the veal entree, caprese salad, braised duck gnochi & squid ink pasta.Honestly, one of the best places I've dined.I thought I didn't like Italian food but Chef Jerry and the crew have changed my mind.I would strongly suggest anyone to dine and try it for themselves.Any negative comments about this place clearly has a taste bud of a peasant and clearly don't know what they're on about.I wish i was able to meet the chef and give him my regards for changing my life.I would defend this restaurant to the day I die because my tongue has never experience these flavours before.Everything from the service, the atmosphere of the restaurant was on point.Good job guys! I wish I was able to rate you guys over 5 stars but unfortunately I was not able to.

Linh Nguyen: Food was great. But portion is really humble. I only noticed the mains' portions when they were served. If I knew I would have ordered more entrees. The ox tongue was good but taste wise it wasn't anything special. Filled pasta was excellent and the risotto was beautifully done. We had a saucer of olive oil and apparently they forgot to give us the bread to go with it. We ordered the sourdough with dip anyway and got 1 slice that was cut into 2 pieces. Waiter also forgot my wine order until the main course was served.

J W: Overall, it is a good experience. The food is delicious and the customer service is friendly as well. But the male toilet is bad, because there is only one toilet and the hand dryer is too old to use. Besides, the food is not quite enough. After 5 courses, people without daily gym workout can still feel hungry. Therefore, it is really good to have some meals before people having meals there.

SUD Food and Wine: what do users think?

Michael Hagar: I have been to SUD now a number of times with work colleagues and customers and they have never failed to impress. The service, food and ambiance are outstanding! You simply won’t be disappointed….give them a try!

Ariana Stephens: If I could go above 5 stars I would, especially for service! Last night my colleagues and I went to Sud whilst visiting Melbourne from Auckland. It came highly recommended and it did not disappoint!! The food was delicious, the cocktails were yum and the Italian wine recommendation from Vincenzo was perfect. We had a fabulous wholesome evening with great laughs, great food and GREAT service. Vincenzo has created an amazing experience at Sud and we were also looked after by Darren who was also fabulous. We had 3 dietary requirements, one gluten free and myself vegan. They happily catered for us and as Darren said, nobody misses out at Sud. Thank you very much!

Stephen Redmond: This was the last night of our 6 week trip to Australia and we wanted to have a nice last meal before we returned to the UK. SUD was amazing and we couldn't have asked for anything better. There was a slight mix-up over the booking time, but the owner went out of his way to sort it out and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. This was the best meal we had in Australia. The scallops were beautifully cooked and sweet, the flounder special and John Dory were superb and the chocolate fondant and raspberry sorbet were the best we have eaten anywhere. Can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Don't miss this gem.

Darragh Miller: A real gem of a restaurant in the CBD, traditional but classic Italian cuisine, fabulous bar and leather lounge at entry, house staff and sommelier are top notch, really recommend letting the engaging and friendly fellow select and delight with their great range of wines and the Italian wines in particularly, this wonderful service continues into the delicious cuisine, lots of great choices and then you have the charisma and charm of the proprietor who pops around and chats with everyone one, a must visit at least five times 😊

Attica: what do users think?

Claire: Having lived in Melbourne for my entire life, I've naturally developed high expectations for food and wine experiences. However, Attica has far surpassed those expectations. From their attention to detail and exceptional menu to their almost faultless service and impressive wine selection, Attica provided an unforgettable evening.I extend my sincere thanks to the entire team at Attica, both front of house and in the kitchen, for creating such a memorable experience. I'm certain that the memories of this evening will linger in conversations for weeks, if not months, to come.Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Tasty Sydney: Although I have experienced numerous fine dining experiences in Australia, I have yet to see a restaurant as creative and expressive as Attica. This course showed the characteristics of Australia very well overall and was designed to allow you to see, hear, feel, and even experience things beyond simply eating food, and was structured to satisfy your five senses. It was rewarding to run 1000km from Sydney.

Laura Bajurny: This icon lives up to the hype. I loved the menu focus on unique Australian flavours and sustainability, and service couldn't have been better. Every course was divine and the presentation was as fun as it was artful.Highly recommend the mixed alcoholic / non-alcoholic drinks pairing as it includes some beautiful and unusual beverages they make in house.

Dennis Li: , every single dish at Attica was well balanced and delicious. The experience component is really important to me at these sorts of restaurants as well, and I think Attica probably stood out the most in this respect. Rather than just shower you with excessive amounts of wait staff or opulent decorations, Attica physically took you on a journey and made it fun.Would wholeheartedly recommend this place!

Philippe: what do users think?

Peter Allen: Just perfect. I never thought a terrine could be so good. Or a quarter roast chicken with its supreme juices. Or slices of wagyu beef with pepper sauce. With fries like I never had before— crisp with pillowy soft insides. When something has become traditional it’s because when done just right…. It is Perfect. And the ambience and all the staff.Perfect all the way.

Neil: Staff politely welcome you downstairs. The bar is expansive and the tables with the view of the kitchen looked fine. Through towards the back is further tables. The Hubble and Bubble of the patrons shows people were relaxed, although maybe not be the place for an intimate conversation. The orders came at the pace that didn’t feel rushed. Timed to allow the enjoyment of the last morsel, to refresh the pallet in anticipation of the next dish.A place to be with someone you love for fine food and great wine.
