4worldlovers: The club’s location is 4 kilometres from Melbourne’s Central Business District, making it readily accessible to shooters from all districts. The club boasts modern, state-of-the-art shooting facilities, with ample off-road car

4worldlovers: Springvale Shooting Range is open every day of the week. The facility, which includes a licensed bar, lounge and restaurant caters to all rimfire rifles at 50m. It also has 25-50m pistol ranges and a 10m air rifle range. The range hosts a number of competitions throughout the week. It also caters to corporate and group bookings, such as scout groups, birthday parties and community activities.


The 50m main range is available to the public and members. Unlicensed shooters are welcome to use the facility under the guidance of our experienced Range Officers/instructors. All visitors to the range will be inducted and given instruction on the safe handling and use of firearms. Loan firearms are available at the range.


Joining SSAA at the range will give you free range entry for that day.


Before heading down to the range, please familiarise yourself with the below range rules:


Eye protection is mandatory for all juniors (under 18) and recommended for all persons using a firearm.

Excessively open-neck tops are not permitted on the firing line (including singlets).

The minimum age for shooters is 12 years old. Juniors (aged 12 to 17) require adult supervision to shoot and a consent form must be completed at the range by a parent/guardian.

No prohibited person is allowed to use the range facilities for shooting.

Eye and ear protection is available for sale at the Springvale Range.

Visitors without a firearms licence are welcome to come and try shooting a .22 rifle. The cost is from $57.50 and includes the following:

(ID is required on entry – pictures of ID will not be accepted)

Approximately two hours of shooting (depending on how fast you shoot or if you purchase more ammunition).

Bookings are not required unless your group exceeds 10 plus or you require special needs or private coaching.

The range offers a variety of packages for unlicensed visitors to experience handgun shooting. The ‘Come and Try’ pistol shoot costs from $220 per person and includes:

The use of three firearms (.22lr Beretta 87 Target, CZ75 SP-01 Shadow and/or Glock) and 100 rounds (50 x.22lr and 50x9mm Luger).

Option to add the use of a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum for an additional $40.

Lauren made the day a lot of fun. She has some very witty jokes to keep things interesting. It rained pretty much the whole time but it did not detract from the fun. Very professionally run with safety in mind. Turns out my wife is a better shot than me but I am ok with that. Get out there are have a go. You will love it.

Lauryn guided me through gun fitment, gun mount, shot pattern, skeet shooting technique and tips for me to use when I return to the range on my practice days. I would highly recommend Lauryn and Russell’s coaching clinics to anyone who wants to improve their clay shooting skills, it was money well spent.

I went to the Queensland branch for a bucks a few days ago and the entire experience was amazing!!! We had a great instructor helping us all along and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. As a group we went from not being able to hit a single shot to hitting fairly consistently towards the end of the session!!

A few years ago we held our team building event for 50 of our staff at Lilydale and everyone still talks about it today. It’s not every day you get to meet an Olympic Gold Medalist and a Commonwealth Gold Medalist on the same day!!

Great day out. Very professional and safety orientated yet friendly and fun instructors. Everyone felt welcome and were given ample time to get comfortable handling shotguns. Instructors did a great job instructing/correcting individual mistakes toward reaching a better score. Definitely a friendly place to go shooting and have a great time!!


Every one of us had a fantastic time and it didn’t matter that some of us had never held any sort of firearm previously, as we were all able to successfully hit multiple targets under the excellent tutelage of Lauryn & Russell…..and every one of us would happily do it again.

4worldlovers: We can show you how to safely participate in handgun target shooting and you can learn how to take part in a number of different target shooting disciplines to develop your skill and enhance your enjoyment of this great sport.


The Sporting Shooters Pistol Club is part of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA). We operate as a sub-club of the SSAA Range Springvale.


It is similar to 10 metre air rifle in that it is shot with 4.5 mm (or .177) caliber air guns at a distance of 10 metres (11 yards). The programme consists of 60 shots within 75 minutes for men, and 40 shots within 50 minutes for women. If Electronic Scoring System (EST) is not available, additionally 15 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women are added to the time limit.


Law Enforcement Activities is a handgun shooting discipline that aims to encourage organised competitive shooting of law enforcement-orientated Australian and international handgun matches. The matches involve the use of centrefire revolvers and self-loading pistols, which are shot at various targets from various distances and positions.


Practical shooting is a truly international discipline that is practiced in over 52 countries worldwide with local, state, national, regional and international championships happening on a regular basis.


The traditional matches involve the use of rimfire .22LR and Centre Fire pistols that are shot at a standard ISSF target from 25M distance.
