Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia: what do users think?

Isabel Dickson: The best training in the world. Jess, Phil, Sass and Sarah are incredible teachers. They foster a supportive and creative environment, and the technique is incredible. Loved every second training here.

Charah Avrael: Want to be an actor? Go to Howard Fine Studios Australia. It's been a couple of years since my time at HFAS and every time I recall my time there, three words come to mind - IT'S THE BEST. The structure of the classs and their methodology has become my firm foundation as an actor in my approach to every role I go for. Phil and the HFAS team are just amazing.

Claire Frost: Howard Fine is not just an acting school it is a community where you can thrive in your craft. The training builds you to be a self sufficient actor that is so important to build a sustainable, professional career.

Daisy: Howard Fine Acting School is more than just a school. It has made a significant difference in my life. I learned a lot about myself as a person, as well as the fact that acting is more than just lines. It is all about you. You interact with yourself in various character scenarios. You discover a new self. Teachers are among the industry's the best performers. I was terrified and concerned on the first day of class. English was my second language, and I lacked confidence in myself. But I never felt alone in the classroom. Everyone was incredibly helpful. I would definitely recommend Howard Fine Acting Studio for acting classes. The Best Acting School in the world.

Michelle Cooper: When I started to look for full-time actor training in Melbourne, there were many institution names thrown around. But when I started looking specifically for actor training that was kind, compassionate and effective... when I wanted actor training that didn't desire to break students, but embrace them and help them grow, suddenly there was only one name that I was hearing: "oh, you want The Howard Fine Studio Australia".The full-time course lived up to the reputation. It was not "easy". The expectations of the students are significant. But it is a course and Studio filled with a love of actors and acting. The faculty sets the bar high, but they will actively work to help you meet it. If you are passionate about your craft, the HFAS team will help you hone it. If you want a training institution where you will find a sense of community, then the HFAS alumni community will welcome you with open arms. If you want to work as an actor, then this course will help you do that.Professionally, and personally, I cannot speak more highly of the quality of the training, and the ongoing support, I have received. I will be forever grateful. And as I prep for three seasons of a solo theatre show tour, after a sell-out La Mama season last year, I keep thinking that I wouldn't be here, if not for this course and what it gave me.2021 Fulltime Graduate.

Aria Krelle: Where do I even begin! To have stumbled across this place has been such a gift and a blessing. I couldn't recommend the Full Time Program enough, it is a perfect blend of all the disciplines an actor should be taught and covers a multitude of areas. The faculty is amazing and so supportive, and they provide you with so many tools which enhances your craft insanely! Not only has my acting improved from Howard Fine Acting School but I've also grown so much as a person and made lifelong friends. If you're on the fence about whether to apply, I encourage you to look no further and to take the leap as I believe it is the best kind of training an actor can receive.

Mitchell Wadsworth: A magical experience awaits any who attend Howard Fine Acting Studio, as long as you're willing to put in the work. The skills I gained here were as crucial to a career in acting, as they were to living a fulfilled life. Can't recommend it enough.

Bek Chapman: After the course, I booked my first professional musical. I am constantly going over my notes and Howard's book when I'm auditioning and working. My time at HFS was invaluable. I cannot stress enough how much Howard Fine Studios helped me in my professional

Chris Papadopoulos: I discovered Howard Fine Acting Studio in 2021, i had done a few other programs beforehand and i thought i knew what acting was… boy was i wrong. I love the way of learning and teaching at HF, the faculty challenges you and guides you to discover yourself and your mind but don’t push you into mental anguish. I found my home away from home and my clique at the studio. The faculty aren’t your teachers, they’re your colleagues. I recommend HF to anyone i come across, they have free open classes. Any actor who wants to be the best they can, go to Howard Fine Acting Studio.

Sacha Brown: The Howard Fine Acting Studio is profound. I have never experienced so much pure joy as I did in my year as a Full Time student in 2023. The year came with plenty of challenges and hard work, but it paid off. I will carry the knowledge and experience from this program with me for the rest of my life, knowing that their training has not only made me a better actor, but a better person. In an industry with so much uncertainty I have left, knowing exactly what I need to do, with confidence inspired by the teachers and program. The studio creates a welcoming, nurturing and healthy environment in which to grow. The community is infectious, it truly feels like a family which I know will always be with me.Please, please, please, if you are considering doing anything in affiliation with the Howard Fine Acting Studio, do it! It will be the best decision you ever make.

Lyndon Cantwell: . As well as teaching you a great acting foundation, the course also familiarises you with audition technique and gives you good understanding of the industry.Did I mention the faculty are the nicest people??

Abbie May: I was very lucky to be a part of the 2023 Full-Time Ensemble at the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia. It has been an experience that I will take with me for the rest of my life. I have met so many wonderful people, and have had the opportunity to be taught by incredible mentors. The HFAS community is so welcoming and encouraging. I feel that I have learnt so much, and grown so much as a human being through the HFAS training. Thank you!

Kliment Poposki: -HFAS* is something to be admired.I was pleasantly surprised by the consistent professionalism and support given. At HFAS* Melbourne I have discovered the fortification that creating a safe ‘space’ for the artist brings to the learning. Another wonderful thing about HFAS* is the scripts used during training. You were bestowed great work and you had to navigate and find your way through it. It’s wonderful when your teachers trust you with great writings. I guess it’s because they must trust that you’re human and have the capacity to understand and they are there to help if need be. I felt respected. What’s really different about HFAS* is the teaching of acting, which is structured in a progressive curriculum a students can learn and implement. Although acting is ephemeral and at times difficult to grasp intellectually, HFAS curriculum does not interfere with the crafts dichotomy or minimise its magic. On contrary, it prepares one to embrace and dive into the unknown ‘magic’ if or when it occurs.Thank you HFAS

Hope Beale: Could not recommend this studio more highly! The most interesting techniques and approach to studying the craft I have come across! The staff are constantly pushing each student to achieve their best and have an insane way of knowing when to challenge, when to nurture and when to support. If you are serious about studying the art of acting, look no further! No other training I have ever done even remotely compares - 10/10

Arsh S: Great school for learning

Sarah Alexander: I have just graduated from The 2023 One-Year Full Time Course. When I say I think this is the best acting school in the world, I seriously mean it. I feel so incredibly confident in myself going into the industry because of the teachers at this studio. Every single one of them had a huge impact on me, everyone had a smiling face greeting you in the morning, and you are surrounded by people that are just as passionate and love the craft as much as you. I have told 3 of my acting friends outside of the studio that I'll pay them to train here, It is seriously life changing, and the lessons you learn go so far beyond acting, you walk out a better human as well. I REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend the Full Time course, It is worth every cent, and seriously once you've finished the money seems like absolutely nothing compared to the invaluable knowledge and wisdom you gain. I'd happily pay more if I knew I would feel this confident afterwards. Every teacher is kind, helpful and loving and wants to invest their time into your craft. It is the safest environment and I felt 100% comfortable to be myself the entire time. Even going to one class and seeing them teach scene study, you'll see what I'm talking about I promise. Please do the Full Time Course, you won't regret it. The year went so fast it felt like a week. One of my goals at the start of 2023 was to feel as though I could pick up any script and emotionally connect to it, and I honestly feel that way after learning from:Howard Fine, David Coury, Marilyn McIntyre, Philip Hayden, Sarah Hallam, Sass Pinci, Jess Martin, Karen Anderson, Paul Rochford, Phil Sumner, Elizabeth Brennan, Sally McLean, Abbe Holmes, Lliam Amor, Eve Morey, Gemma Louise Murphy. And after the course, it isn't really over, they are still completely welcoming and willing to give you their time to help you in this industry!!I reached out to and was convinced by a Full Time student, the year before me; Adeline Close to come here before I joined, so please feel free to contact me through www.sarahalexander.co and I would happily email you about it!

Nishanti Selvaraj: Top notch teachers, supportive learning environment and you'll come out of it having a deeper appreciation for the artform and yourself as an artist. Worth every cent.

Stage School Australia Hawthorn: what do users think?

Summer Nelson: The YABC program has been a integral part of our daughters performing arts journey. The opportunities to build her skills, confidence and experience at YABC have been exceptional. The training and real world experience, has helped her realise her passion as a musical theatre performer, and supported her development towards a professional career. We highly recommend the program.

Rosemary Glasson: My family has been a part of the Stage School family for 10 years. Our kids are and have been involved at every level, from Beginners on Stage and every level of Young Australian Broadway Chorus. They are an important part of our lives and we can't wait each year to see the kids grow and perform. The smiles as they go to training/rehearsal each week are amazing. If you are considering Stage School for your kids, stop right now and enquire!!!

Nell: Eight years ago my daughter started with Beginners on Stage when she was five. She loved her first class and has loved every class since. We have always been at YABC Hawthorn and in addition to the musical theatre side of things which has been FANTASTIC the YABC team are encouraging, professional, enthusiastic and in our opinion provide a nurturing environment for every child.

Peter Denovan: and Australian Youth Theatre

Suzie Esposito: The team at Stage School, offer such a great environment for their students to perform to the highest level. The teachers are all very encouraging, and highly qualified to develop everyone to reach their greatest heights. The students all have great fun and the performances are just amazing ! Well done to all the team at Stage School !

Michael L: Great staff and venue. Will recommend!

Michelle Pires: My son has been attending Stage School Australia's YABC classes for 18 months and absolutely loves it. The mid year and end of year performances continually blow us away with their high production standards, they are the highlight of our year. The organisation as a whole is professionally managed, staff are lovely to deal with and communications regular and thorough. I would recommend Stage School's YABC classes to any child with an interest in music/dance/drama - you will not be disappointed.

Your Mum: My daughter has just started her fourth year at Stage School Australia and just loves it. She does singing, dancing, acting and tap dancing classes and I can see a great improvement in her abilities since she started. She receives great enjoyment in performing in the mid and end of year performances. I can’t recommend Stage School Australia enough.

Gayle Chua: Impressively well run school. Kids enjoy and gain confidence from the classes and are well supported and encouraged to perform. End of semester performances are of a high quality and are enjoyed by both students and friends and family.

Karen Korff: My daughter loves being part of Stage School Australia and the VYT program. She loves performing in the shows and participating in the weekly classes. She has gained some nice friendships and it has certainly paid dividends in building her confidence and performance skills. As a Mum whose daughter has attended several performing arts schools over the years I have never been involved with a school that is so customer focused with parents, whenever you call they are always helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are the most organised school I have been involved with and require no additional time or effort from parents to get their shows on. I love that when it comes to show time I don't need to worry about costumes or spending time back stage, I can sit back and just enjoy seeing her perform. I also love that whether it is weekly classes, workshops or show rehearsals Stage School Australia always run on time. You are notified of all commitments at the beginning of the semester, there are no last minute additional rehearsals or late finishes. They are super organised and super professional.

Isabella Korff: I have been with the Victorian Youth Theatre and the Young Australian Broadway Chorus for a year now and I am now in Senior Actors Ensemble and Senior Troupe and I confidently say that they are the most amazing companies to be apart of. There is no pressure to continue moving toward the higher levels of performing, however the teachers here are always looking for different ways to help you improve. VYT and YABC are incredibly professional environments and the mid and end of year shows are spectacular to be apart of. VYT and YABC has boosted my confidence so much over the past year with encouragment from staff and friendships with fellow castmates that will last a life time. Regardless of whether or not you enjoy performing VYT and YABC are amazing companies that are perfect each and every person who has a passion for the performing arts or just wants to meet new people and try something new!

El Daly: Amazing teaching, talent and professionalism displayed at Stage School Australia

Dawn Kleeman: YABC is a wonderful safe forum for our daughter to explore her creative side She has loved her journey thus far and is excited to continue.Teachers have been excellent and more than flexible to accommodate outside commitments. Would definitely recommend.

16th Street Actors Studio: what do users think?

Maxim Anderson Official: Came here years and years ago, but I never forgot the place. The Youth Program changed me and was one of the first major steps in my acting career. Such amazing friends and collaborators to work with. Definitely recommended to other aspiring creatives.

Ann Egeberg: Incredible place with amazing and very creative people. Great place for growth and learning.

Aaron MG: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThis studio was the most open and welcoming space I have ever had the privilege of attending. I couldn't recommend attending any offering available more!

Quintus “QT” Olsthoorn: Great school that is as equally dedicated to providing top-notch education with highly skilled acting coaches as it is to providing clear and honest feedback. The studio is run with an incredibly strong ethical foundation, and is both warm and nurturing to all of the students. The culture is very nurturing while at the same time absolutely dedicated to teaching the actors to be "industry ready" fostered through a solid work ethic and supporting self-care for mental health.I am very grateful for the time I have spent here, and I hope that this studio can give to everyone what it gave to me.

Kasia Shadbolt: I have just graduated from 16th Street’s Full Time Program and I just wanted to say how incredible it was. All of the teachers and mentors were so generous, supportive and knowledgeable about the industry. I have learnt so many things that I can take into my career as an artist, but also everyday life.I can’t recommend this acting studio enough!

Harmehar Singh: 16th Street is a place where an artist can learn about the craft of acting from the most committed and talented ensemble of teachers, while also learning about humanity, themselves and community.

Chelsea Goodes: 16th Street is an acting studio that I can't recommend enough! Amazing teachers and opportunities. They are all so generous and have a genuine love and care for the people in the industry!

Uisce Goriss-Dazeley: Positive:Quality,ValueGreat place to really develop not only your craft but also your integrity as a person

Lola Berry: I have loved every single second of my training at 16th street actors studio. I’ve learnt so much, I loved the passion, dedication and nurturing quality of each and every teacher. I cannot wait to continue my studies at 16th street with all the wonderful workshops and master classes. Kim you’ve created an incredible space for artists to grow and I will never forget my experience in director of acting: Iain Sinclair‘s class; it was the moment I absolutely fell in love with the craft of acting; it feels like this creative electricity that’s so much bigger than one person. It’s an honour to be a 16th street student. All my love, Lola Berry

Lexi Sekuless: The masterclass series that 16th Street offers is the best in Australia. I recently completed the Steppenwolf workshop and once I saw all the other workshops I had missed over the years - with leading practitioners from around the world - I was so excited to find this jewel.

Vivian Nguyen: Having done all sorts of classes at this studio, ranging from drop in term classes, the Part-Time Acting Program to recently a Workshop with international teachers; I have nothing but praise for them.I have been to other schools nevertheless been taught what I needed to know. However, 16th Street is a place I have honestly felt the passion needed to invigorate actors for the craft. They base the curriculum on finer details, and encourage young and old actors fundamental principles that help their own craft in characters, scenes and stories.I encourage any actor, new and old, to try out some of these programs that the studio offers and be surprised by what you learn. I, for one, have found a place to keep practising and learning.
